  8. About JackSafe:
  9.  
  10. JackSafe updates your PalmOS device so that the contents stored in
  11. Flash by JackFlash will be available after a battery failure
  12. or a hard reset.  
  13.  
  14. This utility is optional.  JackFlash works well without installing
  15. JackSafe.  However, if you have critical applications that you 
  16. need to have immediately available after a battery loss, then 
  17. install JackSafe.
  18.  
  19. Installing JackSafe also allows you to delete JackFlash from your
  20. device if you need the space and do not need to update the contents
  21. of your Flash.  Without JackSafe, you will need to leave JackFlash
  22. in RAM for correct operation.

  25. Installation:

  27. You can safely do the installation overtop of an existing
  28. JackFlash installation.  You do not need to uninstall JackFlash
  29. before using JackSafe.

  31. Use the Install Tool to load JackSafe on your Palm. Launch JackSafe,
  32. and tap the "Install Flash Restore Support" button.  This will install 
  33. JackSafe support on your device.  The process takes approximately one minute.
  34. Once the installation is complete, you will need to reset your Palm.

  36. After the installation process, JackSafe can be deleted from your Palm.

  38. Removal:

  40. JackSafe can also be used to remove JackSafe support.  Install
  41. JackSafe.prc on your Palm and launch the program.  The button should
  42. now read "Remove Flash Restore Support".  Tap the button and confirm 
  43. that you want to remove JackSafe support.  The removal process will 
  44. take approximately one minute, after which you will need to reset the 
  45. Palm.
